The Nook Hair Salon

Welcome to The Nook, your cozy little corner for good hair, good company, and a little time for yourself. Located in the heart of Radford, Virginia, The Nook is more than just a hair salon — it’s a place where you can feel comfortable, cared for, and completely yourself.

Owned by stylists Autumn and Gayle, The Nook was created with one simple goal in mind: to help everyone leave feeling like a better version of themselves. Whether you’re looking for a fresh cut, a new color, a little refresh, or a whole new look, we’re here to make you feel beautiful inside and out. We offer a variety of hair services tailored to you, your style, and what makes you feel your very best.

We believe the best salon experiences feel less like an appointment and more like catching up with a friend. We’re all about the little things — making you feel welcome, listening to what you want, sharing a few laughs, and making sure you leave feeling refreshed, confident, and loved.

And we’re so excited for what’s next! We’re growing our little nook with the addition of a full head spa, bringing even more opportunities to slow down, relax, and treat yourself to some much-deserved care.

At The Nook, you’ll always have a seat, a friendly face, and a place to feel at home. We can’t wait to welcome you in, get to know you, and help you feel like the very best version of you.

Stylists

Meet Autumn

Master Stylist | Master Colorist | Certified Head Spa Specialist

With 30 years in the beauty industry, Autumn is passionate about helping clients look and feel their best. As a Master Stylist and Master Colorist, she continually pursues education and specializes in professional color lines including Redken, Joico, and Keune. She is also certified in tape-in extensions, Brazilian Blowout treatments, and Master Head Spa and Facial services.

Autumn loves welcoming new clients and reconnecting with longtime favorites. For her, it’s about more than beautiful hair—it’s about building relationships, brightening someone’s day, and being there for life’s highs and lows.

Outside the salon, Autumn enjoys life with her husband, L.J., her three children and four bonus children, her granddaughter, and their dogs. When she’s not behind the chair, you’ll likely find her at home with family or enjoying a good book.

Her goal is simple: to help every client leave feeling beautiful, confident, and cared for.

Meet Gayle

For Gayle Lincoln, being a hairstylist has always been about so much more than hair. It's about the relationships built behind the chair, the conversations shared, and that wonderful moment when a client looks in the mirror and genuinely loves what they see.

As a Master Stylist with years of experience, Gayle combines technical expertise, creativity, and an eye for detail with a very personal approach to her craft. She believes beautiful hair should never feel forced - it should feel like you, only elevated.

Every appointment begins with listening. Gayle takes the time to understand each client's personality, lifestyle, hair needs, and personal style, then thoughtfully creates a look that is flattering, modern, and realistic to maintain. Her goal isn't simply beautiful hair when you leave the salon, but hair you continue to love long after your appointment.

Over the years, many clients have become friends, and those relationships are one of the things Gayle treasures most about her career. She wants every person who sits in her chair to feel comfortable, heard, cared for, and never rushed.

That philosophy inspired The Nook - an intimate, thoughtfully designed salon where elevated service meets a warm, relaxed atmosphere. Gayle wanted to create something a little different: a beautiful space that feels polished without feeling pretentious, personal without feeling ordinary, and welcoming from the moment you walk through the door.

Because sometimes a hair appointment isn't just a hair appointment. It's time carved out for yourself. A chance to relax, reconnect, make a change, or simply feel refreshed. And hopefully, you leave not only loving your hair, but feeling a little more confident than when you arrived.
